My “Why”
My “why” for becoming a board member of the Chromophobe and Oncocytic Tumor Alliance is rooted in a journey that began many years ago. As an 11-year survivor of chromophobe who is currently navigating treatment for Stage IV disease, I understand firsthand the weight of a diagnosis of such a rare cancer. Living with chromophobe has shown me both the uncertainty patients face and the power of connection, research, and advocacy.
When I met Katie at a patient symposium and heard her story as a survivor, I felt a sense of purpose. Her commitment to building a community for patients like us inspired me to get involved. I am honored to serve on this board and to turn my experience into action by supporting patients, raising awareness, and helping drive the research and collaborations that give all of us hope for better treatment options and a better future.
COA Year Four
As COA enters its fourth year, I am excited to help host Coffee for Chromies and continue building our supportive community so that no patient walks this path alone. I am looking forward to working with the board to continue the push for research and visibility for this community.
